What is the car hire deposit amount?

Short answer

• The amount is €150  for cars and standard pickup trucks.
  
• The amount is €400 for large sports utility vehicles and luxury vehicles.
  
• The car hire deposit is mandatory.
• The deposit is refunded if the vehicle is returned in the same condition as it was collected.

Long answer

A deposit of €150 is required to hire vehicles and SUVs in the following categories: mini, economy, compact, intermediate and standard. A deposit of €150 is also required to hire cargo trucks.

A deposit of €400 will be charged by credit card to hire elite compact, large, premium and luxury cars, as well as large passenger pickup trucks.

To hire a compact elite, large, premium or luxury vehicle or SUV, two bank-issued cards will be required as an additional guarantee and one must be a valid credit card. Cash payments are allowed, but the deposit must be paid by credit or debit card and will be at least €500.
