Can I use the car hire to drive abroad (cross-border trips)?
- Cross-border trips (trips abroad) are permitted for certain countries outside Germany and require prior authorisation:
- Trips abroad are permitted to Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Ireland, northern Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
- Trips abroad are permitted to the following countries with restrictions: Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, southern Italy and Vatican City; exceptions can be made for the following vehicle brands: Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Land Rover, Tesla, Volvo, Infinity and Jaguar. Vehicles manufactured by Tesla and Polestar cannot be hired for cross-border trips.
- Cost per car hire: from 5 euro per day and max. 50 euro per car hire.
